The antiquity section is bizzare.

[edit]

1. Old Bavarian didn't become Old High German. It is classified as such among other German dialects like Allemannic.

2. The bavarians are basically elbe Germanic in their origin with a strong celtic and a smaller roman substrate. They obviously migrated there at some point. It's even sourced in the linked pages of the Germanic peoples that the bavarians supposedly emerged from. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.24.247.84 (talk) 12:02, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

subjected to ancientness.

[edit]

"these peoples were famed, romanticized, and subjected to ancientness."

I suppose it's coherent, but it feels bizarre to describe anything as "subjected to ancientness". Isn't it enough to say that they were romanticized? Nitwit005 (talk) 01:27, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"romanticized" by whom?
"subjected to ancientness"? what does this mean and who subjected them to the ancientness? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:4040:2D10:5900:89F8:F0E2:51CA:5FE6 (talk) 14:19, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Frankly the whole sentence seems weird. should probably be taken out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:603:1C81:99D0:7DEC:7F16:EA45:F04C (talk) 20:29, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Rework of the Economics Section

[edit]

I am of the opinion that the Economics section is pretty clunky and could use some major overhaul, including getting rid of some of the pictures and condensing everything down to a couple of paragraphs of prose. I don't think the images of silicon wavers or the Eurofighter contribute much to the readers understanding of the concept of bavaria. There also is an entire section about oil refinement (including pictures), which essentially states that oil refinement is not a major branch of bavarian economics. I am not entirely sure on what to keep and what to get rid of, so if anyone has thoughts on the matter, I would appreciate some input.

I think the Economy sections on the articles for Baden-Württemberg or North Rhine-Westphalia could serve as an example of how it should roughly be outlined. AmbitiousAmphibian (talk) 20:32, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I totally agree, the economy section should be summerised into a few paragraphs and there should be a seperate article that covers Bavaria's economy in more detail. I am working on a better economy section now and I will replace the current one with my one when I am done. BigBlobfish (talk) 20:10, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have now updated the Economy section and summarized it into a few paragraphs. More information could be added but I think it would be better if there was a separate article for the economy of Bavaria. BigBlobfish (talk) 22:11, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
